Roller Coaster
If this roller coaster were your life
would you really get in for a ride?
Just looking at it from the ground
you forget every concern of reality
because it seems to reach up the sky
but it consists of ups and downs
you hear screaming muffled by wind
and scared gazes in front of the line
if you had the possibility to decide
to pay a price to live like them all
would you take the first step
towards this uncontrollable route?
If once on the carriage
you got trapped by a protection
preventing you from precipitating
but your eyes got automatically wet
because now that it started it can’t stop
just because one person is asking
and there was no way to slow down
this roller coaster wiping away the tears
going too fast and arousing epinephrine
that deceives that you are really living
taking you to the highest point
and once at the peak
you were convinced to see your future
all that is most beautiful in this world
a dream of easiness and eternity
but darker and darker in the distance
and in the moment you realised you were alone
there was a void in which you’d feel like falling
would you pay that price for a scream
you are afraid to experience?
The only thing you could hold onto
is knowing that this roller coaster
is the only decision you ever made
you would be thrown into the void
that would silence your words
your original thoughts would vanish
and only what’s ahead would remain
you would think you chose it
but you couldn’t control the rails
you would be just a passenger
who couldn’t possibly be mistaken
because there would be someone in charge
and you could do nothing
but trust them to make you cry
before making your dream come true
if not to come down
Because it’s all a beautiful game
smiles distract the constant sorrow
at least with your feet on the ground
every moment has a meaning
but these screams this route this price
these masks this safety this time
isn’t it all a social construct?
When the carriage would arrive at the end
because it is difficult to return to real life
when it’s easier pretending happiness
but risk doesn’t have chains
and authentic remorse no price
sloth is a privilege you don’t want to have
where fatigue isn’t sacrifice just passion
so fight to realise yourself
in what makes your life worth
because reaching your dream will make you feel
higher than this roller coaster
Eventually real mistakes and real sweat
little things and small accomplishments
give you a name that’ll be remembered
and if you’re too weak to stand on your own
have nothing to lose or to look for
no one will judge you if you abandon yourself for the ride

ah, do you think your mind has space for everything?
